About the role

As Business Unit Manager, you will be the leader driving strategic direction and holding full accountability for P&L performance for your business unit. The Business Unit Manager is a key leadership role at CMC Electronics for driving overall business leadership, driving business results and fostering our company’s culture.

  • Design and implement a vision, a strategy and associated tactics to drive operational excellence and exceed financial performance targets.

  • Spearhead business development activities, including strategic planning, sales forecasting, and capturing new business opportunities.

  • Apply CMC Electronics’ proven value creation model by focusing on profitable new business, value-based pricing and productivity.

  • Partner with senior leadership to tackle complex business challenges and enhance overall organizational performance.

  • Drive high standards for individual, team, and organizational achievement by applying CMC’s value creation model, having a strong bias for action, and using data to drive decision making. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and open and honest communication.

  • Translate strategic priorities into operational success by aligning communication, resources, processes, and key performance indicators.

  • Deliver compelling presentations on quarterly financial results, business cases, and customer engagements.

To join our team, you must hold:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering. MBA will be considered an asset
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry, with at least 5 years of close collaboration with business development and sales, program management, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Highly competitive individual with strong leadership skills, results-oriented attitude and a proven ability to think and act like a business owner.
  • Focused on financial performance and achieving profitable bottom-line results. A proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Proven ability to anticipate market trends, identify future opportunities, and align business strategies for success.
  • Strong business and financial acumen to drive profitability and growth.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and enhancing customer relations, with a focus on growth, satisfaction and retention.
