What You’ll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with other development, documentation, and testing professionals to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Write code in Python or JavaScript to develop and enhance software features.
- Test your changes using unit and integration testing frameworks, ensuring robust and reliable code.
- Contribute within our software development lifecycle by planning and completing tasks within the team’s test-driven and agile practices.
- Provide regular updates of your progress, presenting your work to your colleagues or others at Synopsys.
- Embrace learning opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill set.
What You’ll Need:
- Currently enrolled in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with a programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or C++.
- A genuine interest in the software development cycle, algorithms and data structures, software design concepts, and programming paradigms.
- Ability to learn quickly, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a globally distributed team.
- Skills in programming are desirable; you will get more out of the role if you can program well already or are willing to learn.
- Demonstrated coding experience is a plus—sharing a GitHub repository or similar contributions is encouraged.
- Some knowledge of the Python ecosystem (e.g., NumPy, FastAPI, Pydantic, pytest) and/or JavaScript ecosystem (e.g., React, Node.js, Jest, Cypress) is advantageous.
Key Program Facts:
- Program Length: 40 hours per week, paid internship running from May 2026 to August 2026.
- Location: Affiliated location - Waterloo
- Working Model: Remote unless near the Vancouver or Waterloo offices, can be hybrid
- Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time internship.
- Start Date: May 2025.
