We are seeking a Senior Buyer for our Power Electronics Division in Georgetown, Ontario.  The Senior Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing & purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs. 

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR/TO:

  • Performing and comprehending price and cost analysis, source selection/justification, analysis of supplier quotation
  • Issuing RFIs, RFQs/quotes, conduct bid analysis, down select suppliers, and award purchase orders supporting a high mix of different commodity types within a diversified product portfolio
  • Developing and maintaining virtual PO folio file documentation requirements with a high degree of business ethics and integrity
  • Negotiations (supplier price, delivery, and exceptions to purchase order flow downs, i.e., Terms and Conditions)
  • Participating and driving supplier development and management activity to achieve consistent cost reductions with leveraged buying strategies
  • Complete and total cost of ownership of the portfolio being managed
  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing; (EMS preferred)
  • Issue RFIs, RFQs/quotes, conduct bid analysis, down select suppliers, and award purchase orders supporting a high mix of different commodity types within a diversified product portfolio.
  • Perform negotiations (supplier price, delivery, and exceptions to purchase order flow downs, i.e., Terms and Conditions). Conduct total cost analysis, including logistics, currency, payment terms, risk, and lifecycle cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (process efficiency, lead time reduction, PO accuracy).
  • Participate and drive supplier development and management activity to achieve consistent cost reductions with leveraged buying strategies
  • Monitor MRP signals, safety stock levels, lead times, and exception messages to maintain correct material flow and strong ERP proficiency to ensure transactional accuracy and planning alignment.
  • Identify supply risks such as shortages, sole-source dependencies, geopolitical restrictions, and long lead-time materials, and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Monitor and report supplier KPIs (OTD, quality, responsiveness) and initiate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, lead-time, and supplier master data.
  • Procurement responsibilities for new and existing products, including price, schedule, supplier selection, documentation write-up & terms and conditions
  • Managing supplier's critical path delivery requirements in support of key program milestones
  • Purchase of electronic components, electronic assemblies and other assigned commodities as required
  • Providing regular status updates of material availability and shortages as required to meet engineering and production schedules
  • Establishing and maintaining critical working relationships with Material Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality Assurance functional business areas
  • Assume procurement responsibilities for new and existing products, including price, schedule, supplier selection, documentation write-up & terms and conditions
  • Purchase electronic components, electronic assemblies and other assigned commodities as required
  • Provide regular status updates of material availability and shortages as required to meet engineering and production schedules
  • Establish and maintain critical working relationship with Material Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality Assurance functional business areas
  • Execute purchasing transactions and supplier management activities within ERP/MRP systems.

 YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or equivalent with a minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment

  • Professional APICS and/or ASCM certification an asset

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications is required

  • Knowledge of electrical product commodities is desired

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers

  • D.O.D. procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) as well as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a plus

  • Business acumen, time management and ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Detail orientation and accuracy and Relationship management

  • Must be able to meet CGP requirements.
