About the role
Kleos Open Learning, an Independent Online Learning School based out of Kelowna BC, is seeking IN PERSON, one-to-one support for multiple students with various inclusive education needs in RICHMOND, BC.
The successful candidate must be comfortable supporting students with special education designations such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), various learning disabilities, etc.
Candidates must be comfortable supporting students with their assigned school work via BrightSpace, an online learning management system. Proficiency in mathematics up to a Grade 9 Workplace Math level required. Competency in all high school subjects is preferred.
This position is contracted work between 8-12 hours per week, within the school calendar year. This position includes in-person and virtual support services. Hours may be increased if the EA would like to work with more students and is competent with offering virtual support. Candidates' schedules are determined by themselves and the families of the students they work with. The only stipulation being that they can not work on a non-school day (weekends, statutory holidays, school breaks).
Preference will be given to those with experience/training in working with students with inclusive education needs, tutoring or respite, and supporting behaviour management.
Candidate would be required to travel to the student's home to implement a program provided from a distance by a Kleos BC Certified Teacher.
Our support staff must be professional, caring, flexible, work well with little supervision, participate in a team-based approach, and be comfortable using technology.
You must complete a criminal record check before commencing services.
Per hour pay varies depending on experience and training.
