Position Overview
We are looking for a versatile, sharp, and highly organized Communications & Media Specialist to serve as the voice of Transactix and be a strategic thought partner to our CEO. This role sits at the intersection of public relations, government relations, and thought leadership. You will amplify our narrative in the fintech and blockchain space, manage our brand presence across media and social channels within the industry and Canadian government. If you are a storyteller passionate about charting new territory in stablecoins, payment processing, and digital value transfer, and you can adapt to its evolving landscape, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations & Brand Strategy
Narrative Building: Develop and execute high-impact PR strategies to position Transactix as a thought leader in financial technology in Canada
Media Outreach: Build relationships with journalists and industry analysts; draft compelling press releases, pitches, and media kits that translate complex tech/fintech concepts into engaging stories
Spokesperson Support: Prepare the CEO and other leadership for media interviews, panels, and public speaking engagements
Monitoring: Track industry trends, competitor coverage, and PR performance metrics to continuously refine our messaging. Stay abreast of Canadian government policies and regulations
Social Media & Content
Platform Management: Develop and maintain a consistent, high-value posting schedule across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and other key channels
Thought Leadership: Collaborate directly with the CEO to ghostwrite and edit thought-leadership content, event announcements, and company updates
Engagement: Monitor social analytics to pivot strategies for growth and visibility
Event Management and Support
Event Logistics: Track key fintech and blockchain conferences; manage logistics, including registrations, bios, headshots, and speaker materials. Coordinate post-event content such as recaps and media features
Qualifications
3–5 years in communications, public relations, or government relations (fintech, blockchain, or high-growth tech experience is highly preferred)
Exceptional writing and editing skills. You can translate technical or complex financial jargon into clear, professional narratives
Highly proactive with the ability to manage multiple high-visibility workstreams (from press pitches to white papers) simultaneously
Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Canva, AI tools, etc.)
A proven track record of securing media placements and a strong understanding of how to manage an executive brand
Represent the company with confidence alongside or in place of the CEO during government consultations and public-facing engagements, ensuring the company's interests are expertly articulated
