Summary of Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Training expert to lead Marine, Motorsport & Personal Transportation Vehicle (i.e. Golf Cart - PTV) non-technical training development, implementation, and evaluation of the corporate/dealer/B2B technical training program. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing training strategies that ensure each role within the Yamaha dealer network possess the necessary skills to uphold the Yamaha brand name. This includes product knowledge, processes, soft skills training and more which will be delivered in a wide range of blended learning options.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Non-technical training developer
Develop, coordinate, and plan all marine, motorsport & PTV non-technical training programs (timing, resources, cost). Be the main point of contact for non- technical training.
Non-technical training facilitator
Design and deliver learning programs that will support corporate, and dealer in conjunction with key stakeholders within Canada, USA and Japan. This also encompasses the review, maintenance, and development of curricula, individual courses, and education methods. Support train the trainer events, coaching and cross training.
Training strategy and administration
Manage framework for marine, motorsport & PTV non-technical certification requirements including design of the certification path. Responsible for all reporting including maintaining training records, certifications, fill rate and monthly/annual/ad hoc reports. Deliver annual business plan, which outlines a clear non-technical training strategy. Support all dealer inquiries. Manage a team of 2 people who are focused on managing the LMS and developing eLearning. Manage the dealer email inbox and other dealer communications such as bulletins
Academy management
Management and oversight of academy supplies used for non-technical training (tools, equipment, training fleet, etc.). Develop and maintain a venue selection and booking process for all non-technical training instructor-led training courses delivered. In partnership with the Technical Training Leads, management of the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the training centre along with accurate scheduling and maintenance of classes.
Support the needs of the business
Participate in product planning committee meetings, representing non-technical training. Partner with PLMs and marketing to support non-training initiatives. Participate and provide support for dealer & consumer shows, special field events and media events.
Experience Requirements
-**Degree/Diploma:**Bachelor’s degree -**Program of Study:**Learning & Development or associated field -**Years of Experience:**3 + years of experience. -**Type of Experience:**Marine, Motorsport & PTV industry experience an asset
Skills and Abilities

3-5 years of instructional design and delivery

3-5 years of power sports experience or equivalent

Demonstrated project management, and organizational skills

Proven ability to be an effective team leader and collaborator

Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, presentation and written)

Training creation (including ILT, video based and web-based)

Knowledge of adult learning theory and online content development/delivery

Ability to manage a team, time while meeting objectives

Computer skills required: Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, LMS

Willingness to travel internationally as required

Valid auto driver’s license. M Class license (motorcycle license) desired
Expected salary range: $80,000 - $90,000/per annum
Although base salary for this position falls within the above posted range, final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
