The Biologics Manufacturing Center ( BMC ) Inc. is a new biomanufacturing facility created in response to the pandemic. A not-for-profit organization, the BMC aims to better meet the biopharmaceutical needs of Canadians. The BMC helps support projects of public interest, actively contributes to the overall growth and resilience of the Canadian life sciences industry and fosters industry development and innovation through Canadian production. We are looking for an Accounting Technician to join our team responsible for finance, payroll, and accounting. The person will ensure the accurate handling of daily accounting operations, contribute to the reliability of financial data, and be involved in key processes such as month-end closings, budget forecasting, and year-end audits.
This is a part-time position, requiring 20 to 25 hours per week.
The Accounting Technician will be responsible for:
- Actively participating in month-end closings and the preparation of financial reports (balance sheet, P&L, internal reports, etc.)
- Preparing, reviewing, and updating accounting documents throughout the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable and payable, banking transactions, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Entering and validating data between procurement and accounting systems
- Preparing direct payment transactions in accordance with company guidelines
- Processing employee expense reimbursement requests in line with company policies
- Participating in the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting
- Assisting in the preparation for the external audit at the end of the fiscal year

- You hold a college diploma (DEC) in accounting
- You have at least two (2) years of relevant experience as an accounting technician or accountant in a mid-sized organization
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- You are comfortable using various accounting software and can navigate systems intuitively
- You have more than intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, including experience creating integrated worksheets with advanced formulas
- You can communicate effectively in French, both orally and in writing, in your daily activities
- You are able to communicate in English with suppliers or partners located outside of Québec, both orally and in writing
