Correspondence Program with Adult & Continuing Education

for the 2026/2****7 School Year

Adult & Continuing Education is accepting applications from current SCDSB teachers (only) for correspondences courses offered from grade 9 -12, all levels, for Marking positions. Courses offered are determined by the Adult & Continuing Education Department.

We are accepting applications for Markers for the Adult Learning Centres in Alliston, Barrie, Bradford, Collingwood, Midland, Orillia, and Central North Correctional Centre (CNCC).

Correspondence courses are offered predominantly in online formats using D2L, with some booklet courses still being provided. Correspondence courses are made up of 20 lessons representing the content and curriculum expectations of high school credit courses. To earn the credi,t all 20 lessons must be evaluated and a provincial report card must be completed for the student.

The job description is as follows:

  • Monitor the D2L Shell and or booklet (ensure links are live and bring to the attention of coordinator or administration if content requires revision)
  • Receive student lessons through D2L or a SCDSB email account.
  • Grade and provide feedback on student lessons through board email or marked paper lessons to appropriate Learning Centre on a weekly basis. (maximum of 5 business days to return lessons**)**
  • Enter lessons marked, plus their dates into Power School as completed.
  • Complete a provincial report card request for the student and email the request to assigned Learning Centre

Conditions of Position:

  • 12-month assignment (September 1st to August 31st)
  • Rate of pay is $12.00 per lesson marked

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Qualifications in one or more of the following subject areas:
  • English Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Mathematics Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Sciences Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Geography Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • History Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Physics Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Physical Education Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Social Studies Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
  • Ability to work under strict timelines, strong organizational and written and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an online, eLearning environment preferred
