The Tim Horton’s design team is looking for a design project manager who would be excited to be on the front lines of implementing Tim Horton’s new design image. This role will consist of collaborating with a small internal team to maintain design standards across a network of external architectural consultants as we build new and renovate existing restaurants.
You will be responsible to develop creative, site-specific solutions and adaptations of internal design guidelines across a variety of projects in a variety of markets. Must be able to communicate design to restaurant franchises and internal clients using a variety of written, visual, technological, and verbal skills. Design capabilities should include the ability to lay out front of house public spaces as well as back of house kitchen.
Tim Horton’s internally develops custom millwork, furniture, lighting, and artwork. Any experience in any of these areas will be considered a great asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Architectural Consultants on adapting and applying the design standards to specific projects that modernizes the brand and improves the guest experience.
- Draw and sketching skills including space planning, exterior concept elevations, interior concept elevations/renderings.
- Presents and works directly with franchises to review and edit schematic designs as well as guide them through the design development process.
- Develops and presents conceptual and schematic design ideas that push the brand image forward while working with consultants to formulate solutions for a variety of business needs.
- Participates in meetings with consultants and executives to understand and respond to a wide range of projects and project types.
- Reviews and approves prototypical shop drawings and/or physical samples from vendors i.e. millwork, furniture, materials (application), artwork and graphics.
- Collaborates with Design Teams, suppliers, consultants and internal departments i.e. Construction, Operations, Real Estate, Procurement, etc. on specific project / specification requirements.
- Limited travel will be expected, to meet and collaborate with Consultants, Suppliers, review execution in New / Test Markets and review new markets.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Interior Design or Architecture
- 5+ years’ experience in architecture or interior design, design development, space planning, rendering, drafting and presentations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD - v.2018 and/or subsequent newer releases, SketchUp or other 3D modeling/rendering software, Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) and MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Design experience in the development of design for retail and/or restaurant industry.
- Experience managing design consultants and clients.
