Ricketts Harris LLP is a full-service law firm seeking an experienced Family Law Legal Assistant / Law Clerk to join our exceptional team.

Responsibilities

Book client appointments and coordinate meetings, conferences, mediations, and court attendances; Prepare, organize, and assemble court briefs, motion records, financial disclosure briefs, and other court materials; Draft general correspondence; draft and prepare legal documents and court materials; Review, organize, and enter financial information into DivorceMate, with a strong understanding of financial disclosure requirements in family law matters; Compose, transcribe, format, and proofread documentation for grammar, spelling, formatting, and content accuracy; Maintain electronic client files; Manage calendars, limitation periods, and tickler systems to ensure deadlines are met; Handle accounting-related tasks (experience with Acumin Legal Accounting is considered an asset); Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

5+ years' experience working in Family Law within a law firm; Successful completion of a Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk program; University degree is considered an asset; Thorough knowledge of the Family Law Rules and family court procedures; Experience preparing court materials and working with financial disclosure, including financial statements and supporting documentation; Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft 365, Nuance PDF/Adobe, Excel, Philips SpeechExec Pro Dictate, JSO, OCPP, Case Center and DivorceMate; Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail; Ability to manage a high-volume practice, prioritize competing deadlines, and efficient under pressure; Familiarity with using Hyperlinks; A proactive, dependable, client-focused professional who takes initiative and enjoys working collaboratively.
