Company: GDI Services (Canada) LP

Location: Goodyear, Napanee, ON

Job Type: Temporary, 18 – 24 months

Wage Rate: $35 - $45/hour (depending on experience)

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

About The Position This role will support Goodyear's project logistics and execution, focusing on material coordination and project administration for the expansion of the Goodyear factory in Napanee, ON. The position is based in an industrial construction site, working as part of a construction team consisting of a construction manager, project engineers, logistics coordination and accounting.

Essential Duties Material Coordination

  • Shipping/Receiving: Manage inbound shipments, including documenting the condition of materials and equipment. Organize limited outbound shipments as needed.
  • Storage: Plan and organize onsite storage areas for materials prior to installation. Set up a numerical system for storage areas and track inventory in a spreadsheet or database. Manage controlled access to storage areas.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of items onsite, in storage, and enroute.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate onsite activity with project schedules, equipment deliveries, and purchase order issuance.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between the onsite team, vendors, and corporate engineering.
  • Tracking: updating various trackers for the status of orders, deliveries, etc.

Procurement (25%)

  • Ordering: Create purchase requisitions (shopping carts), track approvals, and communicate with vendors regarding order status and changes.
  • Bid event facilitation: Communicate and negotiate onsite with vendors for bid events.
  • Liaison with Corporate Procurement: Coordinate with corporate procurement as needed.

Project Administration (35%)

  • Document Management: Ensure proper storage and retention of project documents.
  • Visitor Coordination: Support visitor site clearance, logistics, and orientations. Including supporting international visitors as needed with the logistics of working in Canada.
  • Time and Material Work Admin: Assist with organizing daily time sheets when time and material work is performed.
  • Office Management: Maintain office equipment and order supplies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in business, accounting, or engineering. Willing to consider non-degreed candidates with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cross-functional support team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software packages.
  • Strong communication, management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interact with customers from diverse backgrounds in a friendly, open-minded manner.
  • Willingness to work occasional off-hours.
  • Self-starter with high organizational skills.
  • Team player with a mix of computer and hands-on work.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Flexibility and versatility in managing change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
