Maintenance of Recipe’s portfolio, centered in the reconciliation of Landlord accounts to ensure accounts are kept current and all billing is in compliance with the lease.
What you will do in this role:
Portfolio Management
- Reconcile complex statements of account, including the audit of CAM and Tax reconciliations, identification and pursual of irregularities in billing
- Review Leases for all locations to ensure compliance with the Leases in the calculations of CAM costs, Property maintenance issues, Roof & building repair and Franchisee/Landlord responsibilities in the operations of the building/plaza
- Developing a thorough and nimble process of recovering overbillings by the Landlord and ensuring compliance with Lease, while leveraging timely payments of billings and Rental Structures
- Identify locations with potential risk to Recipe, including with Landlords; Franchise AR collections; arrears exposure, etc.
Lease Renewals
- Track upcoming lease expiry and notice dates (at least 4 years out)
- Support the planning and negotiation of renewal terms
Lease Administration Finance & Software
- Calculate and report percentage and incremental rents in compliance with the Leases, including liaising with the accounting team for identification of accruals
- Adopt Recipe financial principles as they relate to accounting; tax; and accounts receivable, when processing payments
- Review and update terms, vendors, and contacts in line with the circulation of new contract
What we are looking for from you:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year in Lease Administration, Accounts Receivable, or a related role
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- Basic understanding of Canadian commercial real estate market; lease language and interpretation of lease documents; and accounting principles
