The Business Administrative Support I provides superior member experience by greeting members, responding to inquiries, and promoting the products and services of the credit union while providing administrative support to the Business Lending Team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Greet members and potential members, responding to inquiries on basic credit union products and services.
- Responsible for member problems and resolutions wherever possible, referring more complex issues to the appropriate person or department.
- Refer members, in person or via telephone, to appropriate staff members and departments as necessary.
- Solicit new members and foster business development through service excellence, product knowledge, and teamwork.
- Provide administrative support and assistance to the Business Loan department.
- Maintain Business Lending security and credit correspondence files.
- Generate and distribute various reports to all BAMs and management on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Provide back-up assistance to the Business Lending Administration as needed.
- Prepare bank confirmations
- Complete credit checks
- Reallocate lender portfolios reflecting changes within the lending department.
- Calculate and post corrections/adjustments to member’s accounts at the direction of BAMs or management
- Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly and efficient work environment.
- Work collaboratively with business team members and members of other teams (e.g. BLA, branch administration) to achieve organizational and department objectives.
- Actively participate in meetings, planning and training initiatives, sharing information and ideas to build organizational achievement and success.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to credit union policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention.

Essential Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Business Administration or other post-secondary education would be considered an asset
- Previous customer service experience
- Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to identify and willingness to act upon sales and service opportunities
- Basic understanding of account opening and credit granting functions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
- Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
- Knowledge of Access Credit Union’s products and services
- Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
- Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
- Proficient computer skills
