Job Summary
The School of Health Studies, part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, offers a range of nursing program options that create exciting opportunities for teaching and academic engagement. The Faculty is recognized for delivering high-quality educational experiences and producing graduates who are in high demand.
Located on a technologically advanced campus within the Canada Education Park, the School of Health Studies fosters innovation in teaching and provides access to cutting-edge simulation learning environments.
The School of Health Studies requires temporary/sessional faculty to teach in the following program areas:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing program: The BSN program offers a four-year program stream and a 2.5 year LPN Access to BSN stream. The BSN program requires part-time/sessional faculty for clinical instruction in the areas of gerontology, medical-surgical, home health, mental health, public health, pediatrics, and child-bearing families. Successful candidates will hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing and have a strong related clinical practice foundation. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Practical Nursing program: The PN program requires part-time/sessional faculty for clinical instruction in gerontological, medical and surgical practice settings. Successful candidates will hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing and a strong related clinical practice foundation. Candidates with a diploma in nursing with extensive clinical practice experience will be considered.
- Health Care Assistant program: The HCA program requires parttime/sessional faculty for instruction in gerontological practice settings. Successful candidates will hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing and a strong related clinical practice foundation. Candidates with a diploma in nursing with extensive clinical practice experience will be considered.
NOTE: Current BCCNM registration in good standing without limits or conditions, or eligibility for registration with BCCNM prior to start of sessional faculty position is a requirement.
