About the role

#####Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the University Hospital of Northern BC.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the Prince George Regional Hospital mission statement. The role is defined by the needs of the Hospital, a select patient/family population, agency expectations and the goals for professional nursing practice.

**Shift Rotation/Hours of work:**Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)

A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Interior Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.

#####Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.

  • Current CPR “C” certification.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to promote safe, competent, patient care.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the health care team.

  • Ability to communicate and maintain good public relations with family and friends of patients.

  • Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.

  • Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
