Sessional Instructor - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering - Winter 2027
About the role
The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has openings for sessional instructors for the Winter 2027 semester for the following course:
ENGN-1340 Engn Mechanics II: Dynamics
This course is a study of mechanics concerned with the state of motion of particles and rigid bodies that are subject to the action of forces and moments. The course considers the kinematics and kinetics of motion applied to particles and rigid bodies, particularly as it relates to engineering applications and design. Topics include rectilinear and curvilinear motions, rectangular, normal-tangential, and cylindrical coordinate systems, rotation about a fixed axis, general plane motion, dependent and relative motion, Newton's Laws of Motion, and energy and momentum methods.
Three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week
Qualifications:
Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, would be considered a strong asset. Professional engineering experience is expected and will be an important consideration in the selection process.
Registration as a P. Eng or EIT with Engineers PEI is a requirement.
Note: members of the sessional roster and full-time and term contract faculty members of the FSDE will be given priority.
