#2526-454 - 0.8 FTE Itinerant Secondary Behaviour Specialist-Temporary
About the role
**Posting #2526-454 School Board Office / Inclusive Education 0.8 FTE position in the area of Itinerant Secondary Behaviour Specialist-POSR Level 2 **
Schedule to be determined in consultation with the Director of Instruction, Inclusive Education.
**This temporary contract position is effective as soon as possible, and will continue until June 26, 2026 or the return of the incumbent whichever comes first. **
While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.

**District Inclusion Specialist Resource Teacher **
Successful applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Eligibility for membership in the BC College of Teachers
- Masters Degree in Special Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education or equivalent
- 5 successful years of classroom teaching experience
- 2 successful years of special education teaching experience, including long term or regular TOC assignments in Special Education
- Experience in collaboratively developing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students with a variety of educational needs (autism: ASD, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder: FASD, Learning Disability, academic remediation, behavioural challenges, etc.) within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Inclusionary practices
- Ministry of Education, Special Education categories criteria Successful behavioural management programming (positive behaviour support, functional behaviour assessment, etc.)
- Wide range of teaching and management strategies
- Computer technology to support and enhance learning
Responsibilities:
- This assignment supports students within the District as determined by the Director of Instruction, Inclusion. Responsibilities will include case management, planning, evaluation and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for complex Ministry of Education, low incidence students assigned to the program.
- The assignment will require liaising with community agencies such as CLBC, MCFD, CYSN, NONA, etc. and development of transition plans for youth between elementary and secondary programs.
- District Liaison with Popard
- Provide inservices, presentations and workshops as needed to support our district inclusionary practices.
- Support School Based teams and other district staff as needed with district inclusionary practices.
