About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Shop Hand to support with the maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of H2S-related safety equipment, as well as general shop, yard, and facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Shop Foreman with day-to-day maintenance of H2S equipment, including safety trailers, SABA/SCBA breathing apparatus, road block kits, and related gear.
- Arrive for work well-groomed, alert, and on time.
- Report regularly to the Shop Foreman on activities and daily forecasts.
- Inventory, test, clean, and inspect all H2S equipment; report missing or damaged items.
- Safely operate the B.A. compressor in accordance with company procedures.
- Load safety trailers with required equipment for upcoming jobs.
- Notify supervisors of equipment and trailer readiness.
- Repair or replace equipment components such as valves and fittings.
- Assist other team members as required and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Conduct nightly security checks of the building, vehicles, and equipment.
- Perform hot-shot deliveries and parts runs as needed.
- Ensure the facility, shop, and yard are clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Maintain proper PPE usage and follow all company policies while operating vehicles.
Qualifications & Certifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Required Certifications:
- H2S Alive
- WHMIS
- HSE Orientation
- Standard First Aid / CPR
- Petroleum Safety Training (PST) or Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
