About the role
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about food to join our West Market Square Team. Your role as a Cook will include oversight of the food preparation process, following of recipes and the selection of the items in the prepared foods case as well as eat-in or take-out hot meal options. You will ensure a positive company image by providing legendary service to customers and team members. Your role as a line cook will include participation in the food preparation process of your specific department, the following of standardized recipes, and general kitchen service. You will ensure a positive company image by providing legendary service to customers and team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Kitchen Team Lead with all kitchen functions in your department
- Prepare Kitchen products according to standardized recipes.
- Guide completion of daily prep lists and job assignments.
- Keep all coolers and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
- Follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures.
- Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects.
- Taking Customer Orders
- Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Assistant Manager and/or Market Manager.
- Accept and process product from Receiver.
- Document product transfers, waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
Qualifications:

Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented.

Is available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.

An ability to lift or carry items up to 40 pounds

A passion for food

WHMIS and Food safety certificate completion. (Sunterra will provide training)

Cooking/restaurant experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.

Exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions.

Caution while working around ovens, grills, and other hot surfaces.

Requires some reaching above and below shoulder height.

Repetitive use of hands with power grasping and fine manipulation.
