Position Title: Coordinator, Land Tenure Company Name: CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Government Relations & Natural Resource Management

Location of Work: Banff, or Remote, Alberta

Position Overview The Land Tenure Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH) & Mike Wiegle Heli-skiing (MWHS)'s operational continuity by managing essential government natural resource related documentation, coordinating land tenure and park use permit processes, and assisting in the development of environmental and operational management plans.

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Government Relations & Natural Resource Management (CMH), and supports both the Roads & Run Development Manager (CMH) and the Director of Sustainability (MWHS), ensuring CMH & MWHS maintain compliance and strong relationships with government agencies and communities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Land Tenure & Permitting

  • Assist in preparing and submitting applications for land tenures and park use permits.
  • Track and manage timelines, replacements/renewals, and compliance requirements for all tenures and permits.
  • Maintain organized records of all government documentation related to CMH & MWHS's operations.

Government Relations

  • Support engagement with provincial and federal agencies, including the Ministry of Water, Lands and Resource Stewardship, Environment and Parks, and Forests.
  • Coordinate correspondence and meetings with government officials, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact CMH & MWHS's operations and advise relevant managers, directors and VPs.

Management Plan Development

  • Collaborate with the Director of Government Relations & Natural Resource Management (CMH), the Director of Community & Sustainability (MWHS), and the Roads & Run Development Manager (CMH) to draft and update environmental and operational management plans.
  • Ensure plans align with provincial standards and CMH & MWHS's sustainability goals.
  • Support the integration of wildlife management and conservation strategies into operational planning.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain a centralized database of all natural resource-related authorization documents, permits, and correspondence.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Support natural resource-related audits and inspections by preparing and organizing required documentation.
  • Help develop and support implementation of OHS, sustainability, and DEI initiatives.
  • Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in environmental studies, public administration, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in government relations, permitting, or land tenure coordination.
  • Ski industry or luxury travel experience, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

  • Positive and collaborative working style with an ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is organized with clear attention-to-detail, with strategic planning skills and abilities.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships with peers.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.

Working Conditions

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis.
  • This position requires you to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • This position will require frequent travel to CMH areas, as well as other business-related travel.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and remote settings with harsh weather conditions.

Compensation A competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive base salary which is based upon qualifications, experience, and skill set, as well as an annual merit program. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
