Job Description

The R6 Anti‑Cheat team is a multidisciplinary group dedicated to protecting the competitive integrity of Rainbow Six Siege and maintaining a high standard of fairness and trust in one of the world’s leading tactical shooters.

As an R6 Anti‑Cheat Analyst, you will play a key role in building a practical understanding of cheating within Rainbow Six Siege. Your work will focus on analyzing gameplay footage and community‑shared content to identify cheating behaviors and translate those observations into insights using game telemetry and player data.

You will study how cheaters behave moment‑to‑moment and connect those actions to data patterns, distributions, and anomalies. Working closely with Anti‑Cheat Programmers, Security Analysts, and game teams, you will support investigations, detections, and long‑term anti‑cheat strategy, while providing clear, evidence‑based input for operational decision‑making.

This role requires curiosity about adversarial behavior, the ability to move between qualitative observation and quantitative analysis, and strong communication skills to turn complex findings into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze gameplay footage (recorded matches, streams, community‑shared videos, internal captures) to identify cheating behaviors, patterns, and tells.

  • Build a deep, practical understanding of moment‑to‑moment cheater behavior including movement, aim, decision‑making, timing, and interaction with game systems.

  • Translate qualitative gameplay observations into hypotheses that can be validated using game telemetry and player data.

  • Explore and analyze player data to understand what cheating looks like statistically, including distributions, baselines, anomalies, and outliers.

  • Correlate observed cheating techniques with in‑game metrics to support detections, investigations, and long‑term anti‑cheat strategy.

  • Monitor cheating trends through public content (videos, streams, forums, communities) to anticipate emerging behaviors.

  • Collaborate closely with Anti‑Cheat Programmers, data scientists, and game teams to share insights, validate assumptions, and refine priorities.

  • Support operational investigations and case analysis, providing behavioral and data‑driven context for escalations involving Player Support, Esports, Legal, and other stakeholders.

  • Communicate findings clearly through reports, dashboards, and presentations to help teams understand risks, patterns, and the impact of cheating on game integrity.

Qualifications

What you'll do

  • Experience in an operational environment related to game integrity, trust & safety, fraud prevention, security operations, or a similar investigative/analytical role.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills with the ability to identify subtle behavioral patterns.
  • Experience working with large or complex data sets and performing exploratory data analysis.
  • Ability to query and analyze data using SQL or equivalent.
  • Ability to reason about data distributions, baselines, and anomalies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn internal tools, workflows, and game‑specific systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cheating in competitive multiplayer games, including common techniques and motivations.
  • Experience reviewing or analyzing gameplay at scale (QA, competitive analysis, coaching, moderation, content review).
  • Comfort with statistical concepts such as descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, or A/B testing.
  • Experience working with common data formats (JSON, CSV, etc.).
  • Background in Rainbow Six Siege or similar tactical FPS titles.
