ECARPETGALLERY is looking for a Persian Rug Restoration and Appraisal Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Authenticate antique and handmade Persian rugs — region of origin, weaving technique, materials, and agePerform structural restoration: hand-knotting, re-wefting, edge and fringe repair Perform dye matching and colour restoration using traditional methods Appraise the market and historical value of antique and handmade Persian rugs Advise clients on authenticity, condition, and care Support evaluation of rugs received on consignment or for purchase
Qualifications
Extensive, verifiable experience in Persian rug restoration, authentication, and/or appraisal In-depth knowledge of traditional Persian weaving regions and techniques Fine manual dexterity and attention to detail Formal reference letters or credentials demonstrating specialized expertise are an asset
