Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for supporting full cycle recruitment, including job posting development, candidate shortlisting, interviewing, offer extensions, and the dispositioning process. The position will create a positive candidate experience by delivering exceptional customer service and consistent communication. As a valued member of the Talent Acquisition team, you will also partner with campus representatives across Canada to evolve our campus presence and reputation within the construction industry.
This position is based in the Calgary or Mississauga office.
What You Will Be Working On
- Build and cultivate long-term relationships with key universities, colleges, polytechnical schools, and community partners to develop and enhance our student pipeline.
- Serve as a brand ambassador with all stakeholders including candidates, student groups, education partners, and through effective social media presence and marketing efforts.
- Develop partnerships and relationships with internal business partners in People and Culture and within organizational business lines in support of campus recruitment efforts.
- Support the full-cycle recruiting process for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to our internship, co-op, and new graduate programs.
- Facilitate the conversion of high performing co-op students into full time employees upon graduation.
- Support in the design and execute campus recruiting strategies to find creative ways to attract top talent (career fairs, information sessions, on-campus interviews, office tours, etc.)
- Partner with Senior Leaders and P&C Team at a national level to determine the hiring objectives of co-op students and new graduates.
- Create a positive candidate experience by delivering exceptional customer service in all candidate interactions.
- Assist with salaried recruitment during periods of high volume.
- Work on ad-hoc projects, initiatives and other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in human resources, business or in a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in recruitment
- Knowledge in hiring fulltime salaried staff an asset
- Experience using an ATS system (Workday is an asset)
- Ability to partner with hiring leaders across the organization and act as the Campus Subject Matter Expert
- Action oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability to client service; you are a creative problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of sourcing, selection and staffing strategies, programs, vendors and tools ideally suited for the position
- Understanding of workforce-related federal and provincial employment laws and regulations
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Capability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
