  • Design and size building structures in reinforced concrete, steel, and wood
  • Perform advanced structural analyses using ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE
  • Develop efficient, economical structural concepts that comply with Canadian standards
  • Ensure technical coordination of projects with internal (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and external stakeholders (architects, clients, etc.)
  • Develop and validate design assumptions, analytical models, and load cases
  • Actively participate in preliminary and detailed design phases
  • Contribute to solving complex structural challenges (renovations, existing constraints, phasing, etc.)
  • Ensure the technical quality of deliverables (drawings, calculation notes, specifications)
  • Collaborate with the BIM team to ensure structural integration in Revit
  • Provide technical support to junior engineers (EITs) and drafters
  • Occasionally participate in technical discussions with clients and partners

Technological Environment

  • Analysis software: ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE
  • Modeling and coordination: Revit Structure (BIM)
  • Standards and codes: CCQ, CSA (A23.3, S16, O86, etc.)

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with a structural focus. Graduate-level courses in building structures (reinforced concrete, dynamic analysis, seismic design, etc.) are considered an asset
  • Member in good standing of the OIQ
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings in Canada
  • Excellent technical expertise in steel, concrete, and wood
  • Strong experience in numerical structural analysis
  • Rigorous, analytical, and solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to work on complex projects with a strong conceptual component
  • Technical autonomy combined with an appreciation for collaborative work
  • Excellent command of French (technical English is an asset)

Assets

  • Experience designing institutional, commercial, industrial, or complex residential projects
  • Strong involvement in structural decision-making during the conceptual phase
  • Interest in innovation, optimization, and high-performance structures
  • Experience in a collaborative BIM environment
