Key Responsibilities
Cash Management & Treasury Operations
- Monitor and manage daily cash positions across corporate and venue bank accounts.
- Prepare daily cash forecasts, ensuring sufficient funding for event operations, payroll, and supplier payments.
- Execute daily fund transfers, bank deposits, and withdrawals in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain and reconcile all bank accounts, investigating and resolving variances promptly.
Cash Handling & Float Management
- Establish, issue, and reconcile cash floats and change funds for bars, concession stands, ticketing booths, and special events.
- Coordinate float requests from venue managers and ensure accurate float counts prior to and following events.
- Oversee secure transportation, deposit, and recording of all cash receipts.
- Conduct spot audits and surprise cash counts to verify compliance with internal controls.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are implemented immediately.
- Manage petty cash funds and ensure timely replenishment and documentation.
Banking & Payments
- Serve as the primary liaison with financial institutions for deposits, armored transport, and change orders.
- Process electronic payments, credit card settlements, and wire transfers as required.
- Support setup of new bank accounts or merchant terminals for new locations or events.
- Monitor credit card and POS settlement activity to ensure proper recording and timely resolution of chargebacks or discrepancies.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily and weekly cashflow reports, identifying trends and forecasting needs for upcoming events or seasonal activity.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end treasury reconciliations and journal entries.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to improve working capital and float efficiency.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Enforce company cash-handling procedures and ensure adherence to hospitality and gaming cash-control standards.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to continuously improve float and cash reconciliation processes.
- Support internal and external audits related to cash, floats, and treasury functions.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity in all cash-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Excellent communication skills and high ethical standards.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, POS systems, and banking portals; experience with ERP or treasury management systems.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working efficiently in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
- 1–3 years of experience in treasury, cash management, or finance—ideally within hospitality, gaming, events, or entertainment venues is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience handling and reconciling cash floats and high-volume event cash is an asset.
- CPA, CPA CMA, or CPA CGA is an asset.
Work Environment
- Role involves coordination across multiple entertainment venues and/or event sites.
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend work during major events or peak seasons.
- On-site presence required for float issuance, event reconciliation, or audit procedures.
