Job Description Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Workplace Strategy and Transformation Office is looking for a Workplace Strategy Reporting Analyst. The Analyst conducts reporting analysis for the Workplace Strategy and Transformation team within the Strategy, Planning and Partnerships division to measure alignment of the overall Metrolinx workspace performance. They gather metrics and predefined KPI’s from our Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) and other key systems, compiles the data and prepares reports published within the team and the broader Metrolinx organization. This position will help drive action and support decision making for Metrolinx office workspace.
What will I be doing?
- Supports advancing business process improvements which include but are not limited to automated data synchronization
- Gathers, analyses, and interprets data related to workplace occupancy, space insights & trends, space utilization, and additional industry metrics
- Research and analyses data from various internal/external sources to identify solutions and opportunities to further improve Workplace Strategy reporting; prepares written analysis identifying key trends and issues and develops recommendations for improving the Workplace tool set
- Interacts and communicates with Workplace IWMS service provider (Tango Analytics) to gather performance reporting data and shares updates relevant to performance reporting and its processes
- Works with stakeholders across the organization including I&IT, HR, Finance and external stakeholders from Service Now and our IWMS vendor support the resolution of data discrepancies and data enhancements
- Develops an in-depth understanding of the business processes, assets, facilities, responsibilities, and interdependencies within Metrolinx
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience as a reporting analyst and/or data analyst
- Certifications or Designations: Business Data Analytics Certification (CBDA) is an asset and LEAN Certification an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python or other reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate, Power Apps
