Core Behavioural Services
Full Time, Contract (to July 2027)
Do you have experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families and want to empower individuals with ASD to fully participate in their communities? If so, we encourage you to apply.
The Role:
Working with direction from a Registered Behaviour Analyst, the ABA Facilitator implements Skill Based Treatment and uses the Behavioural Skills Training model to teach mediators strategies outlined in a behaviour intervention plan for children and youth with ASD. Services will be provided in person at the Geneva Centre for Autism, in the home environment, and in the community.
What your Day Looks Like:
- Implement Behavioural Interventions and Skill-Based Teaching Plans written by the Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA)
- Support caregivers and workers in clinic, family homes, and community settings using the Behavioural Skills Training Model
- Travel throughout the community to provide services in family homes or an appropriate identified community agency
- Collect data on behalf of the RBA, coach others to gather data, identify barriers to gathering data, and report back to the RBA
- Graph raw data for interpretation by the RBA
- Assist RBA to conduct Practical Functional Assessments
- Assist RBA in generating summary reports
- Maintain accurate client records, submit expense reports, and other administrative components related to caseload and department needs
- Participate in team meetings, client meetings, and supervisions
What you Bring to the Role:
- Post-secondary diploma from a recognized College in Behavioural Sciences, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or other area of relevance
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with ASD
- Ability to travel across the GTA to carry out core functions of the role
- Sound knowledge of ABA principles
- Experience coaching parents/guardians
- Knowledge of a variety of data collection procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good judgement and problem-solving skills
- Applied knowledge of community-based service delivery systems with demonstrated ability to work within the community
- Experience working with Behavioural Skills Training model to implement and monitor individualized ABA-based intervention programs for children, youth, and/or adults diagnosed with ASD and/or dual diagnoses an asset
- Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
Working Conditions:
- A combination of work is on and off-site (client homes and community)
- Outside normal working hours to meet client needs when necessary
- Challenging client behaviours
- Use of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention strategies (Crisis Prevention Institute) (training is provided)
Salary: $59,239-73-$66,414.08
