This position is located at corporate headquarters in Burnaby, BC.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the corporate parts operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of truck parts and products to fully supply the needs of regional dealership locations. This position will be responsible for inventory control for the locations within your assigned region, provide weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting, maintaining an acceptable level of parts inventory to service our customer base. In addition, you will coordinate with parts team managers and staff as well as vendors to identify and resolve identified issues.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains and improves the current replenishment of parts inventory at each location as directed, including but not limited to, parts departmental supplies, merchandise and consumables
- Maximizes profits with minimal inventory investment
- Maintains required Daily MDI orders (Paccar stock orders)
- Provides weekly OEM equipment stock orders (Case, Link-belt and Tigercat)
- Provides weekly non-OEM stock orders (local vendors)
- Conducts supply chain management and forecasts future demand
- Ensures reduction of stocking vendors and consolidates inventory when and where possible
- Maintains turn criteria as corporately established
- Maximizes all parts returns to local and global vendors
- Ensures that obsolete parts are kept at a minimum
- Transfers parts between locations to maximize inventory control and product overstock
- Creates a standardized emergency parts order policy applicable to all locations
- Monitors the perpetual inventory counts at all currently assigned locations for accuracy and frequency
- Provides weekly reports to the Corporate Manager Procurement and Inventory with inventory levels, obsolescence
- Coordinates monthly call with the assigned region to ensure quality control and resolve outstanding issues
- Becomes familiar with and complies with the company’s Health & Safety Manual, WorkSafe BC (Canada)
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Qualification as a Journeyperson preferred
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field preferred
- At least 5 years’ related experience in a parts department including extensive knowledge of inventory management
- Demonstrated knowledge of truck parts, truck repair and the best practices to run a successful parts counter in a truck repair shop environment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Excellent customer relations skills
PAY RANGE
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 based on experience.
