About the role
Do you want to make an impact on both the customer and the company?
Then Jobber might be the place for you! We're hiring a Senior Strategy & Operations Manager to be a part of our Business Operations department!
Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!
Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500 lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.
The Team:
Jobber’s Business Strategy team is a force multiplier and catalyst for medium to long-term strategic planning & execution. The team serves as a partner and sounding board to the Senior Leadership team and works on critical strategic initiatives and high-impact opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, high-impact group with significant cross-functional exposure.
The Role:
As an early member of this team, the Senior Strategy & Operations Manager will play an impactful role in translating high-level strategy into more granular detail, identifying key opportunities and challenges, and translating these into key projects and initiatives across functional and cross-functional teams.
The Senior Strategy & Operations Manager will:
- Drive a major strategic theme: lead one of Jobber’s top priorities end-to-end by shaping its strategy, defining success metrics, and partnering across R&D, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and other teams to align plans and deliver measurable results.
- Evaluate and accelerate new opportunities: develop rigorous business cases for ideas sourced across the company or independently identified, assess build/buy/partner options, quantify impact, and guide decisions that advance Jobber’s long-term growth.
- Shape and operationalize company strategy: facilitate the creation of the annual strategic focus and long-term (3–5 year) blueprint, stress test current priorities, and translate strategy into actionable, accountable plans.
- Enable executive and board-level storytelling: partner with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to craft compelling materials and communications for Board updates, Quarterly Business Reviews, and company-wide Town Halls that clearly convey progress, insights, and outcomes.
To be successful, you should have:
- Demonstrated experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, internal strategy, or strategic finance / analytics.
- Strong knowledge of business and financial concepts.
- Exceptional communication skills - impactful, visual, and concise presentations and memos, ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to various audiences, generate excitement, engagement, and buy-in.
- Strong problem-solving skills - translate data into insights and insights into strategic recommendations / projects.
- Strong organizational & project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Quick learner; willing to dive in and get their hands dirty.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions, and areas to add value.
It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you had:
- Experience with SaaS businesses.
- The ability to work with large data sets using platforms like Tableau / Looker.
- A passion for small businesses, especially in home services!
