Job Description:
- Fixed Term Opportunity up to June 2027
Purpose of Position:
To provide foundational technical support, systems analysis and documentation in the design, development, and maintenance of robust web applications that support critical business operations, To support IT infrastructure, analyze data patterns, and document technical workflows bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and maintains scalable web applications using ASP.NET Web Forms and C#
- Implements and customizes DevExpress components for rich, responsive UI experiences
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective, high-quality solutions.
- Optimizes application performance and ensures scalability and security.
- Conducts code reviews, mentors junior developers, and enforces best practices.
- Researches emerging technologies and analyzes user requirements to recommend software or hardware enhancements.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues across the stack
- Participates in architectural discussions and contributes to long-term technical strategy
- Assists with the design, testing, and implementation of new hardware, software, or network upgrades.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation to ensure compliance with coding standards and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Works with the Enterprise Cyber Security team to ensure Cyber Security posture adherence.
- Works with the IT team to ensure Solution Compliance with IT policies and efficient System Integrations.
- Participates in Change Management to ensure seamless Transformation and Communication.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Postsecondary diploma/certificate in IT/Computer Science or related field – or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
- Certifications like ITIL Foundation, SQL, an asset
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of technical hands-on experience in ASP.NET Web Forms, DevExpress UI components, and enterprise-grade application development.
Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with IT infrastructure, databases, operating systems, and network components

Proficiency in ASP.NET Web Forms, C#, and SQL Server

Hands-on understanding DevExpress controls and customization

Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture

Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and front-end integration

Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git, TFS)

Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps and SharePoint functions
-
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills to identify root causes and recommend solutions.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with developers and business teams to resolve issues; to produce reports, briefings, and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Understanding security roles, data access controls and Dataverse administration

Experience in integration data across systems using API’s and connectors

Familiarity with supervisory processes and regulatory systems used in pension plans is beneficial

Strong interpersonal and advisory skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non- technical stakeholders to build collaborative relationships and provide expert guidance on risk analysis and mitigation strategies.

About Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA)
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is a new, independent regulatory agency created to improve consumer and pension plan beneficiary protections in Ontario.
FSRA was established to replace the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). The agency is flexible, self-funded and designed to respond rapidly to an evolving commercial and consumer environment. In this capacity, FSRA will:
• Promote high standards of business conduct • Foster a sustainable, competitive financial services sector • Respond to market changes quickly • Promote good administration of insurance and pension plans • Encourage innovation
