##Job Summary
Atlantic Industries Limited (AIL), Canada’s Bridge and Infrastructure Company, is seeking aSenior Health & Safety Specialistto lead health and safety initiatives across multiple Canadian facilities. This role is responsible for driving compliance, reducing workplace risk, leading investigations, supporting claims management, and strengthening a culture of safety and accountability across the organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with leaders in operations, maintenance, and HR to implement practical safety solutions, enhance existing programs, and help create safer workplaces for all employees.
##Key Responsibilities
- Lead health and safety programs across multiple Canadian sites
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective hazard identification and control measures are in place
- Support site audits, inspections, and ongoing regulatory compliance initiatives
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Manage occupational injury claims and support return-to-work planning
- Deliver training and coach leaders and employees on health and safety best practices
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and HR to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture throughout the organization
##Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety legislation
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments
- Professional designation such asCRSPpreferred;CRSTorNCSOwill also be considered
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel regularly to Canadian facilities (up to 30%)
