Position Overview:
The Mechanical Service Person will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems.
What You’ll Do
- Build up line production benches, set up feed rails, airlines, leadtec terminals.
- Assist the mechanics on setting up sewing machines for the lines. Add extension tables, boxes, electric power boxes, connect leadtec terminals.
- Help moving machines according to new layout.
- Set up tape in the floor to mark walking corridors and exit routes.
- Install signage, KPI boards, first aid and needle policy cabinets.
- Change defective light bulbs in the sewing floor.
- Help moving WIP if required. Assist the downfill room bringing bags of down from warehouse.
- Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors, the In-House Production Manager and/or Plant Manager in a timely manner
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment and tools
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
- Support any growth projects lead by the Special Projects Manager
Let's Talk About You:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipment
- High School diploma/GED
- Building trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset
- Must be able to use power tools
- Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire Code
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challenges
- Excellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to evaluate options and generate solutions
Working Conditions:
- Must be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbs
