In October of 2023 De Havilland Aircraft of Canada announced the acquisition of Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2). Mid Canada Mod Centre is comprised of industry leading experts focused on ensuring commercial, charter, special mission and business aircraft operators are equipped with flight decks that provide safety and efficiency. As a premier Canadian aviation maintenance shop, the team of experts works to define avionics requirements to develop and certify solutions that fit each operator’s individual need.
Profile Avionics Design Services (ADS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Writer to support our Engineering and Certification teams. This role will involve drafting manual supplements, catalogues, and other publications. The successful candidate will report to the Design Manager and will work in close cooperation with the TTCA delegates and the planning and administrative departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply standard technical writing methods to support Engineering and Certification by generating product support manuals.
- Draft new manual supplements or process manuals changes.
- Execute technical writing in editable software.
- Proofreading of draft edits.
- Edit and insert illustrations, as applicable.
- Ensure information is correct, clear, and concise.
- Ensure appropriate references and redlines are scanned and filed.
- Initiate report and create folder to contain all reference data.
- Acquire knowledge of and follow the established practices and procedures during the execution of their tasks.
- Remain current with respect to Transport Canada and Foreign airworthiness standards.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in related field or related industry experience in Technical Publications.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in technical writing and publications.
- Proficiency and experience in writing technical documentation in English.
- Intermediate to advanced user knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Use of Corel -WordPerfect would be an asset.
