BGCBigs is seeking individuals interested in the following position

Position(s) Available: One (1) Status: Full-Time Position Salary Range: $58,000-$63,000 annually
The key responsibilities of this position will include
- Coordinating all aspects of the organization's semi-monthly payroll, benefits administration, employee record maintenance, statutory remittances, T4s, ROEs, and payroll reporting.
- Serving as the primary contact for payroll and timekeeping inquiries while working closely with Human Resources on employee changes and benefit administration.
- Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expense claims, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general bookkeeping functions.
- Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts while identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting, variance reporting, GST returns, CRA filings, and charity reporting requirements.
- Supporting donor and funder financial tracking, including maintaining financial records within DonorPerfect and issuing charitable tax receipts.
- Preparing financial information required for grant reporting, departmental projects, and fundraising initiatives.
- Supporting annual audits by preparing working papers and assisting external auditors.
- Maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legislation, and organizational policies.
- Providing administrative and accounting support to the Finance team while continually seeking opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
The successful candidate will have
- A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Three to five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a charitable or non-profit organization.
- Demonstrated experience with payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing documentation for annual audits and working with external auditors.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll legislation, and financial management practices.
- Experience using accounting software such as ACCPAC/Sage and payroll systems such as ADP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of CRA charitable requirements, GST reporting, donor receipting, and non-profit financial practices would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across the organization.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Agency operates with a 37.5 hours per week.
- A clear Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check no more than 6 months old are conditions of hire.
