Our client is seeking an experienced Manager, Accounting and Tax to oversee their financial operations. This on-site role reports to the CFO and collaborates with multiple departments. The successful candidate will manage daily accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and optimize financial processes.

Description

Oversee full-cycle accounting, HST and T2 tax filings, audits, internal controls, and team operations.

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, and budgets.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Monitor financial performance, identify improvements, and make recommendations.

Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.

Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring optimal cash management.

Conduct financial, cost, and variance analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

Assist with special projects, including M&A, system implementations, and process improvements.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation an asset).
- Proficiency in Mandarin (required).
- CPA designation (required).
- +5 years' progressive experience in accounting and tax, preferably in real estate or property management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar accounting/property management software.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
