Senior Fit Technician/Technical Designer
About the role
A fast-growing Montreal-based apparel company is expanding and adding a Senior Fit Technician/Technical Designer to support a new division. This is a newly created role driven by company growth *not a replacement* and offers the chance to influence product quality and fit from the ground up. This role blends fit, specs, and technical design. You'll work closely with production and overseas suppliers to ensure high-quality fit, construction, and product execution across multiple categories.
Responsibilities
- Review garment measurements and specs
- Conduct fit sessions and assess construction
- Provide clear corrections, comments, and approvals to suppliers
- Translate design concepts or reference images into accurate spec packages
- Use strong pattern-making knowledge to evaluate garments
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain quality and consistency across styles
- Support development through to bulk approvals
Requirements
- Experience in fit approvals, measurement specs, and supplier communication
- Background in technical design, fit technology, or product development within apparel
- Proficient with illustrator, and the microsoft suites
- Strong knowledge of how to properly assess fit and construction
- Excellent team member and collaborator
- Able to work in a fast pace environment
