Job Description Summary:

At Sheridan Electric, electricians are the foundation of everything we do. As a Journeyman Electrician, you are responsible for delivering safe, high-quality electrical work while representing Sheridan professionally on customer sites.

This role is hands-on and field-focused. You will work on industrial and commercial electrical installations, maintenance, and service work alongside forepersons, project managers, and other electricians. We are looking for electricians who take pride in their work, follow best practices, and care about doing the job right the first time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments, including conduit, cable tray, wiring, lighting, power distribution, instrumentation, and controls
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to complete work accurately and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues including power failures, equipment faults, and control system problems, escalating issues when required
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with the Ontario Electrical Code, ESA requirements, and Sheridan Electric standards
  • Work collaboratively with forepersons, project managers, and other trades to meet schedule and quality expectations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
  • Accurately complete time sheets, work reports, and required documentation
  • Follow all health and safety policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and customer site safety procedures
  • Support apprentices through guidance, coaching, and leading by example on workmanship and safety

Experience Required:

  • Valid 309A Electrical License and active membership with Skilled Trades Ontario
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a licensed electrician in industrial or commercial environments. Experience in F&B, oil and gas, or other process heavy industrial would be considered an assest
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code and electrical safety practices
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, controls, or automation is considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as required
