About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Dusty. Extremely cold. Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Hay farming. Work setting: Staff accommodation provided. Various locations. Willing to relocate. Mines and quarries. Logging sites. Camp. Blasting. Tasks: Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation . Operate heavy equipment. Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Operate computer controlled equipment. Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Prepare accident reports. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings. Fertilize and spray crops. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Type of heavy equipment operated: Backhoe excavator, loader. Caterpillar (CAT) controls. John Deere controls. Bulldozer, large or small. Grader. Loader. Front end loader. Dump truck. Gravel or dump truck. Bobcats. Drilling equipment: Drilling machine. Instrument experience: Precision measuring instrument. Equipment and machinery experience: Skidsteer. Area of work experience: Ditching. Excavation. Land clearing. Material handling. Rough grading. Stripping. Stumping. Sub-grade excavating. Open-pit mines. Product inspection experience: Seed crops. Type of industry experience: Forestry and logging. Quarrying. Residential construction. Road construction. Surface mining. Agricultural industry. Mining design specialization: Blasting and materials handling. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles.
