Responsibilities The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :

  • Manage all Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) functions, including forward model, engineering change control, scheduling, supply chain, inventory, distribution, stockpiling, balance outs, and Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) operations.
  • Ensure just-in-time material flow and uninterrupted production by overseeing customer releases, production schedules, inventory, and obsolescence management.
  • Optimize production schedules for economic efficiency and proactively respond to customer, quality, shipping, and schedule changes.
  • Lead supplier capacity constraint management and coordinate with external logistics providers to resolve supply issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for inventory reduction, cost savings, record accuracy, and process enhancements.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by identifying and correcting data gaps, missed advanced ship notices, production counts, and receiving/shipping discrepancies.
  • Communicate critical Material Planning & Logistics issues, schedule updates, part availability, and supply concerns to plant, division management, and during daily start-up meetings.
  • Support key plant objectives and compliance, including providing data for manning/sourcing plans, Value Chain Analysis (VCA), Ford Production System (FPS), Quality System 9000 (QS9000), Safety, Health, and Regulatory Performance International Organization for Standardization 14001 (ISO14001), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) internal & external audits, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, Environment (SQDCPME) scorecards, and policy deployment.
  • Perform monthly plant audits, oversee the cycle verification program, and review premium freight expedites for improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and develop the departmental team: coach employees on operational issues, career development, and performance; conduct performance reviews; ensure training compliance; and manage Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) access approvals.
  • Prioritize key issues, allocate resources, and ensure Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) representation in quality campaign and monthly inventory meetings.
  • Submit plant production performance reports to management and align plant and departmental procedures.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

Experience:

  • 5 -10 years' experience in production control or inventory management.
  • 2+ years' experience as a supervisor in manufacturing.

Preferred Requirements: Education: Bachelors Degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, or Business management.

Experience:

  • Familiarity with Ford material management systems, including Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CPARs), Standard Material Flow (SMF), On-Board Logistics (OBL), and related support systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with plant hourly and salaried personnel, plant management, logistics carriers, and production suppliers.
  • Highly developed analytical abilities and sound, rapid decision-making capabilities.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and manage crises when necessary.
  • Proficiency in standard office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
