Job Summary
The IT Lead, Systems and Integration is responsible for leading the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of TerraForm Power's operational technology (OT), SCADA, and related IT infrastructure across renewable energy assets. This role serves as the primary technical lead connecting enterprise IT, operations, cybersecurity, field teams, and external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and standardized technology solutions that support field operations.
The position drives site integration, modernization initiatives, infrastructure
improvements, and operational support while establishing internal technical capabilities that reduce reliance on third-party system integrators. The role provides technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects and helps define standards, best practices, and architecture for OT-aligned IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Delivery & Integration
- Lead implementation, configuration, and support of IT solutions supporting SCADA and operational technology environments.
- Plan and execute system integrations, migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives across operating assets.
- Design and maintain standardized IT architecture supporting renewable energy operations.
- Support onboarding of new sites, acquisitions, and operational expansions.
- Operational Technology Support
- Provide advanced technical support for OT infrastructure, SCADA systems, telemetry, networking, and site connectivity.
- Troubleshoot complex operational issues while minimizing business disruption.
- Support commissioning, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of field technologies.
- Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Ensure IT/OT environments comply with corporate cybersecurity standards, including segmentation, identity management, monitoring, and access controls.
- Partner with Cybersecurity teams on incident response, remediation, and recovery activities.
- Maintain system documentation, architecture standards, and operational procedures.
- Vendor & Project Leadership
- Lead technical delivery with external vendors, consultants, and system integrators.
- Monitor vendor performance, project timelines, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to internalize technical capabilities and reduce third-party dependence.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations, SCADA, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Field Operations teams to prioritize technology initiatives.
- Recommend improvements that enhance system reliability, operational efficiency, and standardization.
- Develop technical standards, playbooks, and best practices supporting TERP's long-term technology strategy.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8-12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems integration, or operational technology (OT) environments.
- Experience supporting SCADA, industrial control systems, networking, and site connectivity.
- Strong understanding of IT/OT integration, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience leading technical implementations and managing third-party vendors.
- Renewable energy, utilities, or other industrial environment experience is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
