Chinook Equipment is looking for a Parts Technician to join our expanding team in Lethbridge, Alberta. Dealing with the equipment brands of Bobcat, Hyundai HD, Kioti, Vermeer, Versatile, McCormick and more, the successful candidate will work primarily at the front counter assisting customers in various parts orders and rentals, as well as supporting our internal Technicians and Sales staff in getting them the parts they need to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

Our ideal candidate preferably comes with previous parts experience within the heavy-duty industry or similar, however not required as we are open to training the right candidate who has a desire to learn and contribute to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist all customers in sourcing and ordering parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
Take orders for parts by telephone, email, retail counter and for our internal technicians
Provide accurate parts and freight quotes to customers and sales staff
Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials
Maintain effective communication within the department and with other departments/individuals in the branch (keeping them informed of the status of back-ordered or special-order parts to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs, etc.)
Accurately process all customer transactions such as returns, orders, quotes
Assist in parts driving/pick up and yearly inventory counts
Assisting customers with rental reservations for both pickup and delivery to customer location
Accurate transfer of parts between Lethbridge and other branches

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in heavy duty or agriculture equipment parts is preferred, but not required
Committed team player with the ability to work independently and as a team
Exceptional customer service and communication skills including the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees over the phone and in-person.
Strong attention to detail with automotive/equipment systems aptitude and a demonstrated computer efficiency
The ability to perform physical work which includes repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to provide a clear criminal record check
