About the role

About the Role / Key Accountabilities:
  • Reporting to the Manager, Credit and Collection this person will be responsible for managing the credit policies, and contacting customers to manage collections (receivables)

  • Review and evaluate credit applications and assess creditworthiness.

  • Run credit reports, send trade and bank references and do financial analysis

  • Overseeing daily operations related to credit assessments and collaborating with departments such as sales and customer service to resolve payment issues.

  • Responsible for releasing credit holds

  • Onboarding new customers in our File Maintenance Database

  • Responsible for account reconciliation and resolving payment discrepancies

  • Communicating with customers and internal departments using all methods of communication

  • Performing clerical duties as needed

  • Managing all levels of client relations specific to collections and general inquiries, and overall credit management

  • With the use of various software, manage customer database and monitor all account activities, including investigating payment discrepancies

  • Enforce prompt action on overdue accounts and engage in appropriate means of collection activities

  • Coordinate payment information updates and customer account changes as assigned

  • Maintain and update filing and database systems

  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
  • 3- 5 years’ work experience in Credit & Collections required
  • Proficient MS Office Suite experience required
  • Post secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Experience within the transportation/ supply chain industry an asset
  • Experience with Great Plains and TMW software an asset
  • Pursuit of a CCP designation an asset
