MANAGER, INTEGRATED PARTNERSHIPS ACTIVATION

We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Partner Development, the Manager, Integrated Partnerships Activation is responsible for leading digital & events partner activations for Team Canada. This role serves as a member of the business development team and drives both value and revenue through deep collaboration with marketing partnerships, digital, content, events, and brand colleagues. This individual serves as a key leader fueling the strategy, selling, and execution of compelling integrated partner activations that deliver value to partners. The ideal candidate has a hybrid skillset of creativity and sales, along with a range of experience including digital and event partnership activation strategy, packaging/sales, and implementation.

The Manager, Integrated Partnerships Activation builds positive and collaborative relationships with current and prospective partners and serves as the COC's leader in all integrated partnership opportunities. The individual combines strategic, creative, technical, & commercial thinking to lead the development and selling of partner activations. This role serves as a key driver of innovation, helping put Team Canada’s partnerships, digital, and events efforts at the forefront of industry best practices.

LOCATION

This position will be located in one of the COC’s offices (Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West; or in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000). We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

Revenue Strategy and Valuation Management

  • Own the Integrated Partner Activations portfolio and corresponding revenue target, which includes contributing to the formation and execution of a revenue strategy & pipeline

  • Co-lead the "Go-to-Market" games-time strategy and pitch process with other internal stakeholders

  • Maintain a sound digital asset valuation methodology powered and informed by dynamic valuation tools and industry benchmarks Utilizing a sound valuation methodology, maintain a pricing strategy and rate card across all channels and asset types

Creation and Execution of Integrated Partner Activations

  • Work with the marketing partnerships team and partners to obtain an in-depth knowledge of a partner’s strategy, objectives, and activation interests

  • Develop strategic partnership activations, in collaboration with cross-functional teams, to deliver against contractual obligations and drive incremental revenue

  • Serve as project manager to ensure all activation deliverables are met both on time and on budget

  • Collaborate with the rest of the business development team to formulate activation thought starters that aim to excite prospective partners Manage relationships with key vendors and oversee freelance and agency support as required

Analytics and Reporting

  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing - Data & Analytics team to set-up tracking, reporting, & optimization all partnership deliverables

  • Perform in-depth post activation research to determine the success of activations, informing benchmarks for future executions of the same/similar scope Working with the Digital Marketing - Data & Analytics team, set up campaign specific tracking and produce post-reports as required both partners and other key stakeholders

Team Management

  • Responsible for managing direct report(s) to ensure they are executing on defined roles & responsibilities within the business development function

  • Identify objectives and KPIs for individual performance plan(s), provide regular and consistent feedback regarding performance and opportunities to improve and coach them on personal / professional development. Conduct performance appraisals on a biannual basis, ensuring a clear training and development plan

  • Identification of system and business process improvements within defined area Embody the values of the COC and embed them within a team approach

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in a related field

  • 5 to 7 years of related, progressive experience in digital & events marketing and partnerships, along with significant exposure and experience in developing integrated partnerships programs

  • Other preferred areas of experience include:

    • Digital media sales
    • Event sales
    • Social media & branded content
  • Experience building integrated partner opportunities for current and prospective partners

  • Proven experience working with a suite of digital & event tools including social & web analytics platforms, asset valuation & tracking, reporting & competitive analysis

  • Experience conducting valuation of digital & event assets using established monetization framework

  • Experience working with third party production vendors including designers, producers, developers and content creators Experience with the creation, ownership, and execution of a sales pipeline against set revenue targets

Skills and Abilities

  • Avid marketer with a keen eye for trends and innovation including social media, digital and events products, technology and sports fans & their consumer behaviours

  • Understanding & interest in the convergence of the digital & events landscape & marketing partnerships

  • Creative and innovative thinker

  • Proven project manager with strong writing and analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to form a strong understanding of Team Canada’s stakeholders

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain marketing concepts to both internal and stakeholders

  • Ability to understand marketing partners’ goals and objectives and create tailored digital & event activation plans

  • Track record of working independently as well as cross-functionally with colleagues from other teams

  • Proactive approach and proven ability to take initiative and drive projects forward with limited supervision

  • Ability to deal with competing priorities regularly and identify high impact projects & tasks as priority

COMPENSATION

The expected salary range for this role is $79,100 to $108,790 per year. The base pay within this range is based on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal pay equity, and market benchmarks.
