Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
-
To monitor activities of Program Clients as required
-
To provide any requested information, assist with Client orientation to Centre regulations and schedules.
-
To oversee and assist with supervision of Clients during daily tasks, as needed
-
To provide support, assistance & encouragement to Clients
-
Perform all necessary Clerical duties for Client documentation, Log Book entries, Sign Out Sheets, Visitor information and other required Forms
-
To make necessary referrals to other staff as needed
-
To make Public Address Announcements for Clients or Staff as necessary
-
To conduct scheduled rounds of all areas of property as outlined by Supervisors and be familiar with all required Fire, Health and Safety measures and procedures. Supervise fire evacuation and safety procedures during Shift
-
To monitor Client activities in Smoking Area as required
-
To take Client attendance at scheduled activities as required
-
To ensure that Clients’ late-night snack is made available at scheduled time
-
To provide accurate and timely Conduct Reports on Client activity to Program Coordinator and/or Directors/Supervisors if required
-
To answer, monitor telephone, routing calls to appropriate Department(s) and staff
-
To conduct Drug Screening on Clients as required, and at all times when a client returns to the property following a pass.
-
To make a written report on Client status to team on duty (Monday – Friday) at end of shift
-
To check packages and bags of Clients returning from off-grounds activities.
-
To attend all Seminars, Training Sessions or Staff Meetings as required.
-
To be knowledgeable of all guests to the property, being aware of their activities and whereabouts. In the case of those visiting with clients, have the guests sign in and out in the register placed at the Front Desk.

To immediately notify the On-Call staff if clients are late when returning from pass, following a 15 minute grace period. To contact the On-Call staff when any type of serious occurrence takes place.

Complete other tasks as required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Diploma in one of the Human Services professions
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING IN:
-
Pleasant, courteous and professional telephone manners
-
Respectful and professional towards clients, public, students and
-
staff
-
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
-
Keyboarding and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as email and internet applications.
-
Willingness to learn and accept supervision
-
Networking, Referrals and strong knowledge of resources
-
Knowledge and experience with concurrent disorders
-
Knowledge of culturally competent practices
-
Knowledge and experience with data management systems (e.g. EMHware) and Outcome measurements
-
Awareness and experience with marginalized and vulnerable populations
-
Basic First Aid/CPR Certification an asset
-
Proficient in English language, second language an asset
Upon hiring, successful candidate must provide:
- A current Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Office setting, long periods of being seated, using computer, phone systems
- Little to no travel
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $18.99 to $23.73 with a maximum of $28.48.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
