Digital media and podcast development
Location: Downtown Vancouver, Surrey-Fleetwood, or Downtown Edmonton Term: 4-month Voyage, Extendable to an 8-Month Epic (preferred) Let us Welcome You Home At Optima Living’s Management & Support Services team, based out of our 3 Regional Offices – Downtown Vancouver, Surrey-Fleetwood, and Downtown Edmonton, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive and innovative environment in senior living across Western Canada. As we manage the needs of our 38 communities across British Columbia and Alberta, we invite you to bring your academic journey into the real world, where theory meets impactful projects. Your journey starts here. We are launching a YouTube podcast focused on mental health, resilience, and well-being within senior living. You will help build this platform from the ground up.
Position Overview
This role supports production of a mental health-focused podcast featuring: Community stories Expert interviews Conversations on compassion fatigue and resilience Practical tools for caregivers You will manage recording coordination, editing, and publishing. You will also be working with Internal Communications and Marketing team to build and distribute podcast related promotional material.
Shape Conversations That Matter (Role and Responsibilities)
Production Coordinator Schedule guests and manage recording logistics. Coordinate in-person and remote sessions.
Recording Lead
Set up and test audio/video equipment. Conduct recording sessions.
Editor & Story Shaper
Edit audio and video into polished final episodes. Ensure clarity, pacing, and quality standards.
Quality Reviewer
Review final content before publication. Maintain consistency across episodes.
Requirements
Enrollment in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field. Experience with audio/video editing software. Strong written and verbal communication. Organization and independence.
