TYPICAL DUTIES OF AN ARABIC TRANSLATOR:

• Read through material in English, ascertain understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and translate it into Arabic, making sure to preserve the original meaning.
• Consult with subject matter experts and other colleagues to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriately.
• Refer to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation.
• Use highly specialised translation software to encourage efficiency and consistency.
• Adhere to industry quality standards and ensure that all completed work meets customer requirements.
• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of the translation.
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
• Follow up with internal team members to ensure the translation meets their needs.
• Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
• Can work in the Ottawa, Montreal or Edmonton office.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required SkillsExperience

• Other duties as assigned.
• At least five (2) years experience in translating technical documents from English to Arabic.
• Must possess a university degree or college diploma, translation preferred.
• Must have experience using computer-assisted translation software, Trados preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Aptitude and interest to learn and develop.
