To support our strong growth in Ontario, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our Ontario commercial development team.
Your mission :
As a Business Development Representative, you will be the ambassador of APRIL in Ontario. Your role will be to promote our products and appetite, build strong partnerships with brokers, and drive profitable growth. You will collaborate closely with underwriting, marketing and digital teams to deliver the best experience to our partners.
What you’ll do :
- Meet and support brokers daily to understand their business strategy and identify growth opportunities
- Promote APRIL appetites, products and digital capabilities
- Deliver broker training sessions and present APRIL programs (including accredited APRIL Academy webinars)
- Develop new accredited training content to support broker development
- Analyze broker performance metrics and proactively drive action plans
- Represent APRIL at industry events and actively grow brand visibility (in person & on LinkedIn)
- Work cross-functionally with underwriting, marketing and operations to improve our broker experience
- Report weekly sales activity in the APRIL CRM
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 3–5 years experience in sales or business development, ideally in P&C insurance
- Are passionate about building relationships and delivering value to customers
- Are an excellent communicator with natural leadership and presentation skills
- Have strong organizational and time management abilities
- Are proactive, results-focused and comfortable working with performance metrics
- Love teamwork and collaboration—even in a hybrid and dynamic environment
- Hold a valid driver’s license (a company vehicle may be provided after the probation period)
Based in Ontario (Toronto area preferred)
Hybrid role: at least 1 day per week at our Toronto office (200 Consumers Rd, North York) or 2 days when not meeting brokers.
