About the role

Purpose The Director, Strategic Planning and Execution is a key member of the Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) team, contributing to the overall success of the Bank’s stakeholder engagement and reputation strategy. This role drives high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that align with the company’s strategic priorities and works closely with the Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability officer as well as the GCA leadership team to design, implement, and manage initiatives aligned to Global Communications, Social Impact and Sustainability.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that support the GCA function’s long-term goals and strategy. Ensure initiatives are forward-looking, measurable, and aligned to evolving business and stakeholder needs.

  • Ensure the function operates in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and enterprise-wide risk management frameworks. Collaborate with Compliance and Global Operational Risk to identify, assess and mitigate risks, and to embed best practices across all GCA activities and processes.

  • Manage the GCA function’s annual budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources and alignment with business priorities.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, operational excellence, and enhanced stakeholder engagement.

  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Provide strategic counsel and insights to senior leadership on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in the external environment.

  • Lead the planning and execution of GCA Director+ and leadership meetings, including Townhalls.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and communication materials to track progress or global corporate affairs outcomes to executive leadership.

  • Support change management efforts related to strategic initiatives. Ensure executive messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with the Bank’s values and priorities.

  • Represent GCA in enterprise-wide strategic planning and transformation efforts. Advocate for the function’s priorities and ensure integration intro broader organizational strategies.

  • Drive engagement and connection within the GCA team. Champion a strong internal culture to deepen employee relationships.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, strategy, consulting, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives.
  • Post-Secondary Education College or University.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of finance and financial services
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Experience in sustainability, public policy, or corporate communications.
  • Ability to influence and lead through ambiguity.
  • High degree of cultural awareness and global perspective.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
