Kichton Construction LP commenced operations in 2019 to serve the Energy and Mining Industries. Since inception, KCLP has grown substantially, starting with 30 experienced team members in 2019, to now over 300 employees and more than 300 pieces of heavy equipment.The RoleWe are seeking an experiencedProject Coordinatorto work onsite on a project located in the Northern Alberta oilsands. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience, preferably in a mining or oil sands setting. This position will be reporting to the Project Manager.The Project Coordinator is an integral part of Project Management team and will aid field and operations in the execution of projects. The role will coordinate and track correspondence, material, equipment, scheduling, subcontracts, and progress.Location/Job Details
- Camp-based rotation (2 weeks on, 1 week off)
- 12 hours per day
- Fly in/fly out. Flights provided out of Edmonton or Calgary.
- Camp accommodations and meals provided.
- Noisy, dusty, remote environment working around heavy equipment.
- Mostly computer-based office work. Some work outside required.
Compensation/Benefits
- $38.00 to $45.00 per hour with OT at 1.5 x the regular rate (bi-weekly pay).
- OT after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, whichever is greater.
- 9.6% Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay on all regular hours paid out bi-weekly.
- Extended health, dental, vision, travel and paramedical coverage after 90 days. Premiums are 50% employer paid.
- LTD, AD&D, life insurance and dependent life insurance after 90 days.
- $500/year health care spending account.

Responsibilities/Job Duties
- Ensure compliance with overall client requirements and specifications.
- Monitor the financial performance and delivery time of projects.
- Complete daily LEMS reporting.
- Code project financials to the appropriate cost code.
- Create and disseminate regular progress reports.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships.
- Assist with the coordination of equipment and manpower throughout project life cycle.
- Regularly communicate and coordinate with various project stakeholders.
- Identify efficiencies or process improvement opportunities within project life cycle.
- Provide administrative support to the Project Management and Operations team.
- Other duties as required
Education/Qualifications/Training· 2 to 5 years’ experience in a Project Coordinator role or equivalent.· Engineering degree or engineering-based diploma (Peng, EIT, or CET)· PMP Certification considered an asset· Previous experience working in a heavy civil construction, earthworks or mining environment preferred· Experience working in the AB oilsands preferred – used to FIFO and camp· Experience using B2W software considered an asset· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, and One Drive required.Soft Skills

Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.
Once we have satisfied the client with the design, we extend our services to provide the equipment, labour and materials necessary to complete the work. With our experience in both the civil and building construction industry we are able to provide a complete project. At KCL we strive to stay current with new industry regulations and requirements. It is our intent to become well versed in all aspects of the construction industry.
We have acquired experienced personnel and a wide range of equipment to facilitate all of the work we have completed to date. Employee safety is very important to us; we have even obtained a COR (Certification of Recognition) to show our dedication to safety standards. To ensure that it stays a priority we have made it an integral component in our project planning process.
