About the role
Main Functions
The ideal candidate will draw on a strong technical background in process technology and will have strong project management skills to lead a portfolio of projects related to optimization of existing products through process improvements leading to cost improvement and incremental improvement on the products.
Key responsibilities for this role include:

Contribute to the LBI results by managing a portfolio of projects in time, on budget.

Apply an integrated project management approach ensuring that all the relevant disciplines such as Marketing, Sales, Production, R&D, Regulatory affairs, Patents are involved during the different stages of the process.

Lead the portfolio projects (program) in all phases from idea to launch (includes industrialization).

Ensure alignment between Business and R&D on product (and technology) development priorities.

Proposing process technologies to develop LBI fermentation and DSP expertise to bring out the most innovative ideas for the development of bioprocesses.

Manage the projects in the portfolio which includes;

Define the project plans with valid business case.

Manage the execution of the project plan in terms of money, time, quality, organization and information and ensure that the deliverables and objectives are achieved.

Report the Project progress and organize the project reviews.

Manage the project risks and inform the owner (or steering committee) in case project objectives, deliverables, milestones, budget, timing and quality incur risk.

Manage and control the scope of the projects.

Manage the expectations of the (internal) customer by defining and managing project communication plan in order to insure that the adequate information is provided timely to the relevant(s) stakeholde
Technical skills
Required
- Working knowledge of technology process (fermentation and downstream processes, centrifugation, membrane filtration, drying, etc.)
- Demonstrated success in executing projects from start to end
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standard practices
An asset
- PhD in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering; candidates with a master’s degree with relevant experience in an industrial setting will also be considered
- 5+ years’ experience managing projects and teams
- Expertise in statistical analysis and design of experiments
- Bilingual (English and French), written and spoken
